The Lagna Lord is Mercury which is in Leo the 12th house. Mercury is about thinking, learning, discrimination and communication. The 12th house is associated with retreat, contemplation, letting go
The Moon is exalted in Taurus the 9th house, associated with dharma, spiritual teachings, teachers, and a search for deeper meaning. Taurus keeps this wisdom grounded, practical and experienced rather then from books.
I feel totally in tune with those findings.

Bettina, your observations are so on the money! : ) It’s very cool to see what we know “backed up” by jyotish.

Lesson 3 – Randall – yes, what I love about the D9 is that it shows more of our inner workings and evolution. It can be so easy to be stuck on the physical aspects of our body and life. Often those aspects and challenges are what is propelling the inner growth. I’m glad that you see how you have grown in where you seek validation 🙂

Lesson 3 – Bettina – from our conversation the other day, I can totally see glimpses of these placements in your life. We could spend a lifetime studying our charts and find how none of what we have encounteered, enjoyed and endured is random.

              Class 3:
In my Rāśi chart, my Moon is in Virgo and my Lagna lord, Saturn, is in Aries. In my Navāṃśa chart, my Moon is in Capricorn and Saturn is in Libra. I find it interesting that both Virgo and Capricorn are associated with being practical, responsible and structured. This definitely sounds like me! I am very detail-oriented, tend to overthink things, and often take on more responsibility than I should. I also found it interesting that Saturn is considered debilitated in Aries but exalted in Libra. From what I understand, this could suggest developing more balance and confidence. I tend to avoid conflict, have difficulty setting boundaries and struggle with confidence, so this is something I can relate to.

What stood out to me most from this exercise is that the Navāṃśa can show a different side of a planetary placement than what we see in the Rāśi chart. It made me think about how some of our challenges may also be opportunities for growth. For me, that means learning to find a better balance between my responsibilities and my own well-being.

ILanaRea – Class 2 – Oh that is cool we have the same configuration! Interesting about your hips as I was diagnosed many years ago with painful bladder syndrome. I was told by my urogynecologist that I hold all my stress in my pelvis and although I am always trying to narrow down a physical cause (like food or activity…) I think it might relate more to my nervous system. The mind is so powerful! I am glad you are finding ways to deal with the paralysis analysis!

Randi Class 2 – good to hear from you and I hope you are enjoying retirement! Yes – where I feel stress most is in my nervous system – which I think affects my painful bladder syndrome. During tax season I really focus on trying to settle my nervous system through abhyanga, meditation and acupuncture. I love your observation and comment about authenticity…so important in today’s world!

Venus addresses comfort, relationships and refinement, with Rahu adding in amplification, intense focus. Together they highlight personal expansion, shifting perspectives and unconventional opportunities. Health-wise, Venus focuses on kidneys, urinary tract and blood sugar. Two points stand out – personal expansion and unconventional opportunities – I’m headed to India in March ’27 for 5 weeks! Also health – I was diagnosed with small kidney stone a year ago.

Ilana lesson 3. I really appreciate the Jyotish class! The different charts are refinements of our personality and understanding of our personal nature with our environment, personalities, obstacles that we struggle with and the growth that can come from it. Understanding the play of the planets and their energies helps me look deeper into myself and helps to ask better questions.

Those charts are a good guidance. We learn about ourselves. We become aware of our own hidden aspects. By this awareness alone we can find more peace and kindness for ourselves. This inner stability then helps implement personal growths. I fell more empowered because of the subtle awareness that the planets have gifted.

Ananda, Venus also rules my sixth house, so your reflection caught my attention. In my chart, Venus sits in the ninth house, and I’m beginning to explore how its placement adds another layer to the interpretation. Your connection between Venus, Śukra dhātu, and your own menstrual experience makes this exercise more tangible for me. My periods are very heavy, and I’m in the later years of perimenopause. Over the past two to three years, I’ve noticed changes in timing and duration, with periods arriving late or early and sometimes lasting longer. Although our experiences differ, your reflection resonates with my growing awareness of my own changing rhythms. It encourages me to look more closely at my own bodily patterns and consider how they might relate to the traditional associations of Venus, while keeping the possible symbolism separate from an explanation for a physical symptom. I’m still building confidence with this material, and it encourages me to remain curious about both the chart and the lived experience of the person.
