Mentors & Guides

Being a student here means being held in community. Guided by master mentors and supported by one another, we walk this path together — growing in relationship, integrity, and devotion to Ayurveda, and carrying this wisdom into the world.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make authentic Ayurveda accessible guided, mentored, and lived in real life.

Our Vision

We envision a world where Ayurveda is accessible, embodied, and passed through relationship — not rushed, diluted, or disconnected from real life.

In this world, practitioners are shaped by time, mentorship, and lived experience. The medicine lives in kitchens, clinics, families, and communities, carried forward with integrity and care.

Our Story

Yoga Veda Institute was not built around a guru, a single voice, or a fixed idea of how Ayurveda should be taught. It was shaped — and continues to be shaped — by the medicine itself, by the students who walk this path, and by the lived realities of learning Ayurveda in the modern world.

This school grew from listening. Listening to what Ayurveda asks. Listening to what students need. Listening to the places where traditional education fell short of real life. When the medicine called for something slower, more relational, more human — we responded.

We are not here to impose a system. We are here to steward a living tradition. To hold space for depth over speed, relationship over hierarchy, and embodiment over performance. The curriculum evolves. The community deepens. The school grows — not because we push it forward, but because we stay in relationship with what is true.

This is not a school built for students.
It is a school built by them.

We are vessels. We listen. We respond.

And together, we carry this ancient wisdom forward — into our homes, our practices, and our communities.

If you feel at home here, it’s because you already belong.

Meet Your Mentors

Our faculty is a living lineage — Ayurvedic Doctors, Medical Doctors, and BAMS-trained clinicians — devoted to the practice of this ancient science, not just its theory. You learn in real time, in real relationship, receiving guidance from mentors who bring decades of clinical experience, spiritual depth, and tradition into every class — and into direct relationship with you.

This is more than teaching.
It is transmission.

And through them, Ayurveda lives.

Meet Your Guides

JACKY RAE (CO-FOUNDER & GUIDE)

Jacky Rae serves as a guide, mentor, and advocate for students as they step into Ayurveda in a way that honors real life — family, work, devotion, and becoming. With coming up on 2 decades of experience in Ayurvedic education, program design, and student mentorship, Jacky holds the broader arc of each student’s journey with care and discernment.

She supports students in finding their right pace, choosing aligned pathways, and navigating moments of transition, doubt, and growth. Jacky’s guidance is deeply relational — rooted in listening, honesty, and trust in the long path of the medicine.

Jacky’s role is not to rush you forward, but to help you stay true to yourself as you grow into this work.

“Ayurveda is not learned in checklists or exams. It is learned in your kitchen, your body, and your daily life. I’m here to walk with you as it becomes lived wisdom.”

COACH ANDY ALLEN (CO-FOUNDER & GUIDE)

Andy is not here to teach from a distance — he walks beside students as a guide, mentor, and steady presence throughout the journey. With decades of experience in mind–body medicine, meditation, and clinical education, Andy supports students in integrating Ayurveda not just intellectually, but personally and professionally.

Students turn to Andy for clarity, grounding, and perspective — especially when the path feels big, uncertain, or transformative. He helps students slow down, listen more deeply, and embody the medicine they are learning, so it becomes lived wisdom rather than information alone.

Andy’s role is to help you stay connected to why you are here — and to walk with you as that calling unfolds.

“Ayurveda isn’t something you learn quickly — it’s something you grow into. My role is to walk beside you as the medicine becomes lived, embodied, and real in your life.”

BRITTANY WOODARD (LMS ARCHITECT)

Brittany has been part of Yoga Veda Institute from the very beginning. She helped build this school alongside the founders — not just its systems, but the way students actually experience learning, connection, and continuity over time.

As the architect of the student online learning experience, Brittany designs and tends the digital learning space with care and precision. Her work ensures that technology supports the medicine — never overpowering it — creating a structure that feels clear, humane, and steady.

Because she has walked this path herself, Brittany understands the student journey intimately. She anticipates where support is needed, removes friction before it becomes overwhelm, and quietly holds the container so students can focus on study, integration, and growth.

Brittany’s presence is foundational. Much of her work happens behind the scenes, but the ease, flow, and coherence students experience each day exist because of her care.

“I’ve walked this path as a student myself. My work is about removing friction so learning can feel grounded and possible. The container matters”
