I personally view Navamsa as my Dharmic path in life. In my chart it is a path that becomes clear later in life. The lagna Lord of my D1 chart is Sun and Sun remains in Navamsa in the 11th house which make this a strong house, also very much a stronger Karmic expression later in life since it is a house of growth. My Moons ruler is Jupiter and the same applies since Jupiter joines the Sun in both houses. They say that this makes Jupiter weak because of the intense heat from the Sun. However Jupiter sits 3 degrees behind the Sun and is looking at my Sun while the Sun is moving and looking ahead. Later in life Jupiter will be (more) free from the Suns heat.
October 22, 2026 at 2:42 pm #283419I haven’t quite figured out how to edit later on. I ment to say in both energy systems of divisional chart.
October 25, 2026 at 12:07 pm #283507Manou, your perspective on the Navāṃśa as a dharmic path that becomes clearer through lived experience resonates with me. I’m beginning to explore my own D9, and, using the degrees on my birth-chart sheet, my Lagna lord, Jupiter, falls in Aquarius in the eleventh house. Your reflection gives me another way to consider that placement, especially the relationship between personal learning, community, and shared aspirations. I’m curious how you have experienced this unfolding in your own life—what feels clearer now about your dharmic direction than it did earlier?
October 26, 2026 at 4:51 pm #283617Dear Manou Broersm,
Your reading makes sense. Navamsa is the chart of dharma, and Sun and Jupiter in the 11th of D9 point to a purpose that becomes clearer and more rewarding with time.
Jupiter at 3° behind the Sun is combust, so the traditional caution applies. But your point about direction is sound: the Sun is already ahead and pulling away, which many practitioners read as a gradual release of Jupiter’s results.
Since the natal distance never changes, track the “freeing” through timing: your Sun and Jupiter dasha periods and Jupiter’s transits over your natal Sun and Moon.
Things worth checking: the D9 signs of both planets (and whether either is vargottama), your Atmakaraka and Karakamsa, and the D10 for career expression.
October 27, 2026 at 3:11 pm #283626SwagatikaMahapatra Thank you, I am grateful for your response. Since Jupiter is my Moons ruler I sadly will not see those energies on a Mahadasha again but I will definetly watch out for the antardashas of Jupiter. In a couple of years my Mahadasha will change to Sun……. This will be probably the best time to watch what will happen. Since I have been born with a Uranus/Pluto conjunction in my D1 first house I cannot help but watch into astrology deeply and from multiple perspectives. Jyotish for me is definitely from Moons energetic perspective. From that perspective my Suns energy goes to Yama or Aries(Mars+Venus) and Jupiter to Ketu’s Ashwini also in Aries. They ‘must’ 🙈 become ‘selfish’ warriors of my souls expression probably instead of Pluto/Uranus expression seeking it in partnership of Purva Phalguni.
October 30, 2026 at 1:08 pm #283640Vela I took some time to answer your question. Thank you it is interesting. I dont know if I completely understand what it is you are referring to but I will try. What became clear about my direction after discovering my D9? Everything! But it took a couple of years or 3 to really understand its meaning. General astrology (Jyotish included and by general I mean the internet) tends to mention good and bad energies in your chart. I do not share this. It spooked me at first but I have natural rebel energy in me (first house Uranus) that tends to seek deeper (first house Pluto). I now believe that if for my example my Suns energy goes into Yama Nakshatra in Navamsa, this is not bad. The energy wants to evolve me as a soul and apparently I have had a strong energy of Vishaka in previous life (ketu) that most probably I did not express correctly and needs some adjustments. Ketu is an energy we know well so we can let go but it is also an energy that would be useful to look at in the whole chart what it is telling you.
