Swagatika – very insightful post! I love your ideas, details. I really resonate with number 6 – to offer fearlessness! I understand your explanation, and notice it everyday, i just have never herd it referred to as fearlessness in that manner. And it’s so true!! Thank you!
Class 4 – I was struck by how cooling the cooling burn compress was in my skin. I felt the cooling action deeper in the skin. My takeaway observation is that I can certainly see how beneficial the compress could be on inflammation, redness and heat, but I am wondering if it is safe and effective with actual burns? And if so, burn type? I would assume 1st degree thermal or chemical burns, no broken skin, but that’s just a guess.
Bettina – Thank you for your explanation! I learn a great deal from your posts. I also felt the lightening of the compress as it started to dry. Right on about the gunas and rasas. Thank you!
Jewel – I found your analysis of Mars very interesting! The idea of overcoming obstacles with dedicated effort is very appealing to me. I’m also in the same boat – working on consistency with health routines, but definitely feel the difference when I am consitent. Thank you!
Erin – Love your connections – Mercury with nervous system, Gemini with breath, shoulders, hands. Interesting connections to work, balance vs. over-work. Thank you!
Class 4
Venus addresses comfort, relationships and refinement, with Rahu adding in amplification, intense focus. Together they highlight personal expansion, shifting perspectives and unconventional opportunities. Health-wise, Venus focuses on kidneys, urinary tract and blood sugar. Two points stand out – personal expansion and unconventional opportunities – I’m headed to India in March ’27 for 5 weeks! Also health – I was diagnosed with small kidney stone a year ago.Ananda – i agree that hands are a Fount of healing energy! Used with intention, linking to highest good, and hands on heart feels so calming, peaceful and joyful!
Bettina – Very interesting, your comment on how tastes can change depending on what your body needs. It reminds of times I’ve eaten something and noticed a difference, and also how my tastes have changed over the years.
Class 3 – Triphala Wound Wash
First, I have to say that when I make an ayurvedic recipe, be it kichari, eye wash, wound wash, etc., I always feel a strong sense of love connected to the process. My hands are enveloped in goodness. For the wound wash, here is my list of Rasas, in order:
Rasas in order:
Bitter
Pungent
Astringent
salty
sourBitter and Pungent could switch places, both were the strongest. One takeaway is that both of these rasas together address the detox of liver and blood, reduction of inflammation and fever (Bitter), clears congestion, improve circulation, burns toxins (Pungent). Astringent promotes wound healing, dries and tones.
Ananda – Very interesting about the connection between your physical symptoms and medical astrology. This is all new to me, I appreciate the insights you give.
Dana – Your post reminds me of myself – I’m retires now, but i remember working in stressful situations and needing to really listen to my nervous system, to set a limit and then transition to something calming as part of self-care.
Class 3 – The Navamsa chart I pulled shows Moon in Gemini and Lagna Lord in Leo. Moon in Gemini relates to processing feelings through talking, writing and analyzing. The mind moves fast, leading to a like of variety, learning, and the ability to understand other perspectives. Lagna Lord in Leo can relate to transitioning from external affirmation to internal affirmation. Marriage can be based on loyalty, a sense of shared pride, no emotional games or pettiness. Desire is to leave a positive, authentic imprint.
One takeaway is the movement from external validation to internal validation, staying true to the self’s integrity and a commitment to authenticity. I have seen this movement in my own life, looking back on early years until now.
Cynthia – Working with food is amazing. It is healing in a very literal sense, but also very energetically healing with made with love.
Bettina – your posts are so helpful to read, the way you apply concepts and your detail – I learn a lot from you also!
Class 2 – One thing that others should know – hard to say! I have no experience, neither with myself nor others, of severe wounds in real life. I resort to basics – clean wounds, bandage, change bandages regularly. For myself, I’m always surprised at how quick wounds heal. Itching stops quickly. scabs quickly. Maybe an important take away with wounds is to be very clear on your limits! redness, smell, discharge – go to a highly qualified Dr. Don’t wait.
Bettina – love your insights about emotions, reading energy. Such an important skill to have! That ability can help to calm, to encourage others.
Class 2: In my 6th house the ruler is Saturn, Jupiter is also present. Knees, bones, joints and teeth are governed by Saturn, as well as contraction. Jupiter governs adipose tissue, liver, pancreas and expansion. Some sources state that Saturn and Jupiter together provide a nice stability, and I’ve seen that for most of my life. I’ve always been naturally strong, healthy, and adventurous. However, now that I’m 65 I’m seeing some challenges rise up with bones and tissues – stiffness in hips and thighs, minor aches in knees, and teeth need more care now.
Class 1: Taurus, Scorpio and Virgo are empty.
Capricorn has both Saturn and Jupiter.
Moon and mars are both in Gemini.
Planets are evenly divided top and bottom.7 things my hands know to do that are healing:
1. Gentle touch,
2. prepare healthy foods,
3. complete work to serve others.
4. work with land to help heal earth,
5. Reiki,
6. gather energy for healing purposes,
7.give items to others that make them happy. -
