In-Person Clinical Training
Experience Flexible In-Person Training with Our Preceptor Program
YVIAM’s AAC-approved Ayurvedic Practitioner programs require 180 hours of in-person learning. While most schools mandate that students travel to their campus to fulfill this requirement, we believe in offering a more adaptable approach.
Train Anywhere with a Local Preceptor
Our innovative Preceptor Program allows you to complete your in-person training by working directly with a local Ayurvedic Practitioner, known as a “Preceptor.” This means you can fulfill your hands-on learning requirements without leaving your hometown—or you can choose an inspiring location that suits you best.
- Complete your in-person hours wherever you prefer—be it a serene retreat in Bali or a wellness clinic in your own community.
- Receive one-on-one guidance from experienced Ayurvedic professionals committed to your success.
- Coordinate training sessions that fit seamlessly into your personal and professional life.
- Gain practical experience in real-world settings that enhance your understanding of Ayurvedic practices.
How It Works:
- Find a qualified Ayurvedic Practitioner in your area or desired destination that would like to teach you or choose one of YVIAM’s Pre-approved Preceptors listed on our directory.
- If your desired local preceptor is not already approved by YVIAM, invite the Ayurvedic Practitioner apply to become a YVIAM Preceptor.
- Engage in hands-on training to fulfill the 180-hour in-person requirement, enriching your online studies with practical application.
By integrating our Preceptor Program into your educational journey, you gain the freedom to tailor your learning experience without compromising on quality or accreditation.
Anatomy & Physiology Co-requisite
Most medical professionals have already fulfilled this requirement. For those who have not, students must complete 6 college-level credits (90 hours) of Anatomy & Physiology before graduation. This is not required for enrollment but is necessary to apply for graduation. Credits must come from courses explicitly titled “Anatomy & Physiology” from an accredited institution. Yoga training courses do not meet this requirement. Official documentation (transcripts or certificates) must be provided. If you haven’t completed this, you may enroll in our Integrated Anatomy & Physiology program during your studies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why Study Ayurveda with the Yoga Veda Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine?
Is it legal to practice Ayurveda?
Ayurveda can be legally practiced across all 50 U.S. states, and graduates of Yoga Veda Institute are well-positioned for board certification, enabling them to consult with clients. However, the legal status of Ayurveda varies internationally. Practitioners outside the U.S. should research local regulations and consult with authorities or Ayurvedic organizations to ensure compliance. Staying informed about evolving legal frameworks allows practitioners to confidently and lawfully offer Ayurvedic services while contributing to the growth of this ancient practice in their communities.
Is Yoga Veda Institute Accredited?
As an alum of Yoga Veda Institute's AAC-recognized program, you'll be eligible to take the NAMACB Board Exams, qualifying you as a board-certified Ayurvedic Practitioner. We are proud that all graduates who opted for the NAMACB exam have successfully passed. The AAC's recognition ensures our curriculum meets rigorous standards, preparing graduates for professional success in Ayurveda. Yoga Veda Institute is a recognized AAC member, providing confidence in the quality and credibility of our programs.
What is the Importance of Accreditation?
Accreditation is a critical indicator of educational quality. While some institutions may claim dubious credentials, the Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission (AAC) is recognized for its stringent standards. AAC accreditation involves a thorough review process, ensuring programs meet high educational standards and continuously improve. This level of oversight is essential for students and employers, enhancing professional credibility and career opportunities. Be cautious of institutions with unverified accreditations, as they may lack meaningful oversight. AAC accreditation offers assurance of quality and a pathway to success in Ayurveda.
What are my future career opportunities?
The growing demand for holistic health has opened various career paths in Ayurveda. As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, you’ll offer consultations, craft remedies, and guide clients to health. Wellness Consultants share Ayurvedic knowledge through workshops or content creation, while Spa and Wellness Centers integrate therapies like Abhyanga. In Product Development, you can innovate Ayurvedic goods. Opportunities in Research and Education allow you to shape the future of Ayurveda, whether through teaching or research. Ayurveda offers diverse, fulfilling careers focused on enhancing well-being.
Is the Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification Globally recognized?
Certifications in Ayurveda, like in most professions, are not recognized “globally” due to varying regulations in each country. Every country sets its own standards and requirements for all professional practice, and Ayurveda is no exception.
In regions where Ayurveda is legal but lacks specific regulations, our AAC-recognized certification is often accepted as a reference, similar to advanced standards in the USA. However, we recommend confirming requirements with your local authority to ensure compliance.
If you have additional questions, please reach out—we’re here to help.

By incorporating these disciplines, we equip graduates with a well-rounded understanding that honors the balance of body, mind, and spirit, enriching their practice and offering comprehensive wellness solutions.

“Coming from a Naturalpathic background I find it to be very interesting that the program broke things down based upon the energetic principles as opposed to what I had learned previously. Another thing that I really enjoyed is Ayurveda brought back what was missing and a long time awaiting for me. This was to bring back the spiritual aspect into the approach to Holistic Medicine! Yoga Veda has helped to bring those majestical synchronicities together providing an affordable and comfortable learning environment. The teachers are absolutely amazing and well versed in their fields! And the family here at Yoga Veda Institution provides an amazing curriculum, communication, the time and patience to go above and beyond to meet the unique individualistic disposition to all of their students to enable true proper learning and understanding. They too are absolutely amazing and well versed as well. I feel honored to be able to be part of that experience and family. Thank you Yoga Veda Institute.”
