Faculty Qualifications

This policy outlines the qualifications required for faculty members teaching in the Ayurvedic Health Counselor (AHC), and Ayurvedic Practitioner (AP) programs. It ensures that faculty members possess appropriate qualifications, experience, and ongoing competency to deliver high-quality education aligned with program standards.

 

 

 

Faculty Qualifications Policy

This policy applies to all faculty members involved in delivering the Ayurvedic curriculum and non-Ayurvedic curriculum components of the AHC, and AP programs.

Ayurvedic Curriculum Qualifications

Ayurvedic Health Counselor (AHC):

  • Primary Faculty Qualifications: Faculty teaching 80% of the AHC program must have completed an Ayurvedic Health Counselor program or higher and possess at least 2 years of practical experience as an AHC or above.
  • Supplementary Faculty Qualifications: Up to 20% of the AHC program may be taught by faculty who are recent graduates with less than two years of experience working as an AHC or above.

Ayurvedic Practitioner (AP):

  • Primary Faculty Qualifications: Faculty teaching 80% of the AP program must be qualified as an Ayurvedic Practitioner or higher and have at least 2 years of experience working as an AP.
  • Supplementary Faculty Qualifications: Up to 20% of the AP program may be taught by individuals who have graduated recently with less than two years of experience as an AP.

Non-Ayurvedic Curriculum Qualifications

For all programs (AHC, AP):

  • Faculty teaching non-Ayurvedic curriculum components are not required to have Ayurvedic qualifications but must demonstrate relevant qualifications such as a degree, certification, or at least 2 years of experience in the subject they are teaching.

Continuing Competency

For all programs (AHC, AP):

  • All Ayurvedic faculty must provide proof of ongoing professional development in Ayurvedic medicine, which may include continuing education or current professional certifications relevant to their teaching discipline.

Implementation:

  • Documentation: Faculty members are required to submit documentation verifying their qualifications and continuing competency as outlined above. This documentation will be reviewed and kept on file by the program administration.

  • Compliance Monitoring: The program will conduct annual reviews of faculty qualifications and continuing competency to ensure compliance with this policy.
  • Faculty Development: The program will offer resources and support for faculty seeking to meet these qualifications or enhance their professional development, including opportunities for continuing education and certification in Ayurvedic medicine.
