Learning Outcomes
After this course, you’ll have the knowledge to offer Ayurvedic procedures like abhyanga (oil massage), shirodhara, sweating therapies, and localized basti treatments within your wellness practice. You’ll know how to design nourishing pre-cleansing programs, recognize when adjustments are needed, and safely deliver therapies that deeply support your clients’ nervous system, tissues, and overall vitality. While this course is a key requirement for Ayurvedic Practitioner students, it’s also a beautiful addition for professionals in the wellness space who want to integrate authentic Ayurvedic treatments into their offerings.
Curriculum
Learn how to design a complete pūrva karma (preoperative preparation) plan to ready clients for pañcakarma and other Ayurvedic therapies.
Understand how to monitor clients during snehana (oleation) to recognize signs of over- or under-oleation and adjust protocols as needed.
Explore the role of the pūrva karma diet in preparing the body for cleansing, including dietary guidelines and adaptations.
Learn the principles and methods behind abhyanga (oil application), learning techniques, oil selection, and client preparation.
Learn the principles and methods behind udvartana (dry powder massage) and when it is most appropriate to use.
Study the practice of swedana (sweating therapies), including different types of heat applications and their therapeutic goals.
Work with specialized therapies like shirodhara (steady oil pour on the forehead), understanding setup, indications, and client care.
Get introduced to basti treatments using localized oil wells—katibasti (lumbar), hridbasti (heart), udarabasti (abdomen), and netrabasti (eyes)—and learn when and how to apply them.
Develop the ability to manage the sequence, timing, and coordination of these therapies to ensure client safety and optimal outcomes.

Dr. Resmi V. Rajagopal - Your Teacher
Dr. Resmi V. Rajagopal BAMS, MS (Ayurveda Gynec) PGDYN is a dedicated Ayurveda Physician and founder of the versatile wellness app Ayurshe, and born and nurtured in the Ayurvedic-rich environment of Kerala, India. Her journey in Ayurvedic medicine commenced in 2007, marked by her graduation from Pankajakasthuri Ayurveda Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by a master’s degree from the prestigious ITRA Jamnagar. Her academic path was enhanced by additional training in yoga therapy, beauty care, and pulse diagnosis.
Throughout her career, Dr. Rajagopal has developed a keen expertise in patient care, diagnostic skills, and hands-on surgical experiences, infused with the practical wisdom and spiritual insights imparted by her GURUs. Her approach to health and wellness extends beyond traditional learning, embodying a holistic perspective.
Dr. Rajagopal's passion for education led her to the role of assistant professor at the SDM College of Ayurveda in Udupi, India, where she played a pivotal role in mentoring the next generation of Ayurveda students. This experience significantly enriched her skills in both theoretical and practical aspects of Ayurvedic medicine.
