Mentorship — Yoga Veda Institute of Āyurvedic Medicine
Yoga Veda Institute of Āyurvedic Medicine

The deepest study.

One teacher. One student. Your cases. Your questions. The transmission of this medicine the way it has always been passed — from one devoted life into another.

This is how Āyurveda
was always taught.

In the ancient Gurukul tradition, a student lived alongside their teacher. They learned not just from the curriculum — but from the way a master sees, responds, and holds the medicine in their hands and their life.

The mentorship pathway carries that tradition forward. A named preceptor. Your clinical cases reviewed, your questions held, your practice shaped over time by someone who has walked this path before you.

Some knowledge only passes person to person. The Gurukul system existed because the deepest wisdom in this science is found in the way a master sees a person — in the questions they ask, in the moment they say: not yet, look again.

"The most profound transmission of Āyurveda I have ever encountered. A relationship with the medicine itself." — Graduate, Mentorship Pathway
What this pathway offers

Your formation.
In relationship.

01
Your cases.
Your preceptor.

A named Āyurvedic doctor or specialist assigned to you. They review your clinical assessments, challenge your reasoning, and teach you how they see — in real, ongoing relationship. You learn to hold a person, not a protocol.

02
The questions you
couldn't ask before.

Some things can only be transmitted in conversation — in response to a real case, in a moment of real uncertainty. No written curriculum can hold what passes between a teacher and a student who are genuinely in it together.

03
A credential that
means something.

Complete the full pathway with clinical hours and you graduate NAMACB board eligible — the highest professional standard in North American Āyurvedic practice. Earned through genuine formation, over years, in relationship.

Two levels.
One lineage.

The mentorship pathway opens after completion of the IAC Professional Program. You arrive with the full curriculum behind you — and go deeper still. Clinical hours are supervised one-to-one. Your preceptor knows your name and reads your actual cases.

Sponsorship of 15–75% of tuition is available for students who demonstrate both dedication and need. Money is never the reason the right person doesn't complete this path. A conversation is required before any financial discussion.

AHC Pathway — Level 1
600 hours · 12–18 months · 40 clinical hours · IAC Level 1 credential · NAMACB board eligible
AP Pathway — Full
1,500 hours · 24–36 months · 180 clinical hours · IAC Advanced credential · NAMACB board eligible

knows not even medicine."

Mentorship Pathway — Who This Is For
Who this is for

You already know. You have known for a while.

This page will not convince you of anything. If you are here, something already did that work. Read on and see if you recognize yourself.

The signs are always the same

It tends to arrive the same way
for almost everyone.

You find yourself reading about Ayurveda late at night when you should be sleeping — and you can't stop.

You are sitting with a student, a client, a patient — and you can feel what they need, but you don't yet have the training to offer it.

You have been circling this for months, maybe years. Something keeps bringing you back. That is not a coincidence.

You don't just want to understand Ayurveda. You want to live it — and carry it forward.

The practitioner who feels the limits

Something in your current practice
keeps asking for more.

You already work with people. You already hold space. But there is a ceiling — a place where your training ends and the person in front of you still needs something. You feel it every week.

Ayurveda is not an add-on to what you do. It is the root-cause framework that makes everything you already do land differently. Deeper. More precisely. With the clinical understanding to back it.

"I kept arriving at the same place with my clients — knowing something was there but not having the tools to reach it. This gave me the tools."

The one who is simply called

You don't have a clinical title.
You have something rarer.

Some of the most extraordinary practitioners who have come through this program arrived with no clinical background whatsoever. No degree, no certification, no professional health credential.

What they had was a quality of attention — a genuine desire to understand the human body, the natural world, and the place where the two meet. That quality cannot be taught. Everything else can.

"I was terrified I wasn't qualified enough. Nobody here made me feel that way. They just asked if I was serious. I was."

The student who is ready

You are not looking for
another course to take.

You have done courses. You know what it feels like to spend money on something and walk away unchanged. This is not that.

This is a mentored clinical education with real faculty, real preceptors, real case work, and a real credential at the end. It will take real time and real commitment. If that is what you are ready for — you are in the right place.

"I knew within the first month that this was different. It wasn't information delivered to me. It was wisdom transmitted through relationship."

Mentorship Pathway — How It Works
How it works

This is not a course you move through alone. It never was.

Ayurveda has always been transmitted through relationship — teacher to student, over time, through lived experience. The Mentorship Pathway is built on that model. Online curriculum meets one-on-one clinical mentorship, and the two together create something no self-paced course can replicate.

You will have a preceptor who knows your name, reads your case work, supervises your clinical hours, and walks with you through the parts of this training that cannot be learned from a screen alone.

The three foundations
01
The Living Curriculum

24+ modules of online curriculum taught by nine BAMS, MD and AD faculty. Pre-recorded sessions, optional live classes, and seasonal content that follows the rhythm of the year. You study at a pace that integrates — not a pace that rushes.

02
Your Preceptor

A real Ayurvedic practitioner — matched to you personally based on your location, your specialty interests, and where you are in your studies. Your preceptor supervises your clinical hours, reviews your case work, and is available to you throughout the program.

03
Clinical Hours

The hands-on clinical training required for NAMACB board eligibility. AHC: 40 hours. AP: 180 hours. Completed under your preceptor's supervision — in person, at a pace that honors the depth this work requires. The clinical deposit and fees are bundled into your program.

The preceptor model

You will not do this without a guide.

In traditional Ayurvedic education, the guru-shishya relationship — teacher to student — was the container through which knowledge was transmitted. Not information delivered. Knowledge transmitted. Through relationship, over time.

Your preceptor is an IAM-approved Ayurvedic practitioner with clinical experience and a devotion to teaching. They are not an online tutor. They are a practitioner who takes on students because they believe this is how Ayurveda should be passed forward.

"The relationship with my preceptor changed how I understand what it means to be a practitioner. She didn't just supervise my hours. She helped me find my own clinical voice."

The journey from here

What the path actually
looks like.

Not a list of milestones — a real picture of what the months ahead feel like for students who walk this path.

Before you begin
Your application and preceptor match

You submit your application. We review it personally — not an automated system. Once accepted, we match you with a preceptor whose specialty, location, and approach align with where you're going. You meet before your clinical hours begin.

"The matching process felt like someone had actually read my application and thought about who I was."

Months 1 — 6
The foundation settles in you

You move through the foundational curriculum — the philosophy, the doshas, Agni, the rhythms of nature. You start applying what you learn immediately. This is not memorization. It is recognition. Students consistently report that by month three, they are already seeing their lives, their clients, and their bodies differently.

"By month two I was using what I was learning every single day. It didn't feel like studying. It felt like remembering."

Months 6 — 12
Clinical work begins

You begin your supervised clinical hours with your preceptor. Real clients, real intake, real care planning — with the safety net of an experienced practitioner reviewing every step. This is where the curriculum becomes clinical wisdom.

"My first real client intake was terrifying. My preceptor sat with me through it and said: you already know more than you think."

Graduation
Your credential. Your practice. Your calling answered.

You complete your clinical hours, your coursework, and your case study requirements. You receive your AHC or AP credential from IAM — and you are eligible to sit for the NAMACB board exam. What you have built cannot be taken from you.

"I finished this program a different practitioner than the one who started it. That is the only way I know how to say it."
