Living Ayurveda

Seasonal {Virtual} detox retreat

Align with the Rhythms of Nature

As we move into Autumn, the transition from one season to the next is visible all around us.  Ease into fall by tapping into your true and natural rhythms.

Days are becoming shorter, trees are starting to shed their leaves in preparation for winter, and the crispness of Autumn is in the air.  Ayurveda considers a seasonal cleansing routine important for maintaining balance, health & wellbeing.

Think of nature in autumn.  The leaves begin to change color, dry out and fall away.  The breeze becomes friendly.  There is an ethereal state to autumn mornings and evenings, as crisp, cool air takes the place of summer humidity.

It’s time to support the needs of our bodies to slow down for the duration of the fall cycle. As we transition from one season to the next, it’s time to clear out Ama (toxins) that we’ve accumulated in the tissues. We can all benefit from observing the changes in the seasons and align ourselves with the rhythm of nature and the environment around us.

Autumn Cleansing Retreat

The changing of seasons is an ideal time to establish a state of balance, strength, and immunity.  A seasonal diet, cleansing routine, and new daily rhythms (Dinacharya) can right imbalances, improve digestion, and promote a healthy state of mind.

Three Day {virtual} Retreat

A 3-day wellness & Ayurvedic cleansing retreat combines Ayurvedic Detoxification, Dinacharya (daily routine), yoga, meditation, and an authentic experience to give participants a better understanding of their physical, mental and spiritual health.

Ayurveda Retreat at Home

One of the most important practices in Ayurveda is the seasonal cleanse.  This serves to help preserve and restore your health by drawing out and eliminating toxins and excess vita, pitta, and kapha from the tissues and digestive tract.  A guided home cleanse from the Art of Living Retreat Center is a great way to experience the power and transformation of Ayurveda.

Why Cleanse?

Ayurveda recognizes that each of us is unique, and that by understanding that uniqueness and applying basic principles and practices that address all aspects of life—mind, body, and soul—we can live a life of balance, joy, and well-being.

Greater Energy

What lowers your energy level? Is it the cumulative buildup over time of stress, tension and worry? Or wear and tear on the body? Cleansing helps to lighten the body’s load by re-igniting your energy from within. As you strengthen your internal capacity and clear out accumulated blockages, you naturally begin to feel more energetic and more alive

Light Body, Clear Mind

The feeling of lightness afterward surprises many. This feeling is not limited to physical weight-loss — which also happens — but that lasting sense of lightness and clarity, which comes from true cleansing. An Ayurvedic cleanse is an authentic clean; it is neither a recent innovation or a new age fad. Like yoga, this ancient practice has stood the test of time for thousands of years.

Pain Management

Many people cleanse to relieve chronic pain. One participant recently shared with us, “This is the first time in three years that I’ve woken up pain free.” The combination of treatments, food, and herbal supplements works to help manage pain by cleansing your system at a deep level, restoring balance.

Personal Approach

Because Ayurveda acknowledges that every body is different, our cleanses are completely customized to your unique needs. You’ll first understand your body type and where you are right now in order to take your cleanse in the best direction.

Ayurveda is as ancient as yoga and has a rich heritage of wellness. We preserve the ancient art and incorporate  current practices which allows us to offer you recommendations that draw on an authentic tradition of wellness.

At-Home Guidance

Our expert team will be there to guide you every step of the way, from your morning meditation  to your post-cleanse plan. Whether you’re an Ayurveda aficionado or brand new to the practice, we are here to support you. Throughout the program, you gain key insights into your body and mind; and build a personal wellness plan along the way.

Balance is the natural order; imbalance is disorder. Health is order; disease is disorder. Within the body there is a constant interaction between order and disorder. When one understands the nature and structure of disorder, one can re-establish order.
