Designed for Success

Yoga Veda Institute’s Distance Learning Program caters to students seeking the flexibility that distance education provides, free from the constraints of location and rigid schedules. While this independence is crucial for many, success in this program often hinges on a structured approach to learning.

To thrive in the YVI Distance Program, it typically suits students who:

1. Excel at self-directed learning,

2. Can effectively manage their studies independently, and

3. Have the opportunity to engage in clinical practice within their local area or are willing to travel for a modest amount of time.

Freedom of Location

Students at Yoga Veda Institute have the freedom to pursue their academic studies from anywhere across the globe. Essential requirements include reliable internet access (with high-speed connectivity strongly advised), along with the necessary tools for word processing and printing capabilities.

Clinical Training

Students at Yoga Veda Institute can undertake their clinical training under the guidance of an approved local preceptor or for non certificate seeking students, through our interactive online internship program. It’s advisable for students to consider potential clinical training opportunities before enrolling in the YVI program. For those unable to travel, alternative pathways are offered, such as transferring clinical hours from another accredited institution, collaborating with a pre-approved faculty preceptor, or completing the program as a non-certificate seeking student.

Time Flexibility

Students enjoy the flexibility to progress through both academic and clinical components of their program on their own schedule. While courses have set start times throughout the year, we understand the need for some students to take additional time. Although we encourage completing courses within the designated trimester, extensions are possible when needed. Our dedicated instructors, preceptors, and mentors are committed to providing personalized support, ensuring every student successfully achieves their goals and navigates the program effectively.

Major Maps

Major Maps are course completion schedules that students develop with the YVI Student Advisor. Major Maps allow students to see what course work must be completed within each trimester to meet the student’s graduation goal date. Major Maps give structure to the flexibility of YVI course work.

Financial Options & Incentives

At YVI, students can comfortably manage their tuition without the pressure of an upfront lump sum. We provide extended payment plans to ensure our programs remain within reach for all aspiring Ayurvedic students.

Your tuition covers all courses you enroll in at the start of each trimester, and you have the freedom to choose the number of credits that align with your schedule each term.

The Ayurvedic Health Counselor program spans 1 year over 4 trimesters, with the option to extend to 3 years without incurring additional fees. The Ayurvedic Practitioner program is structured to be completed within 2 years, or 8 trimesters, but students have the flexibility to spread their studies over 6 years, or 18 trimesters, at no extra cost.

For those who choose to pay the entire program fee at enrollment, we offer a substantial Pay In Full discount. Rest assured, there are no hidden costs. Additional charges will only apply if a student exceeds their program’s maximum duration, in which case they will be billed at the current rate for each additional trimester of enrollment.

Accessibility

Students have the flexibility to enroll in as many or as few credits as they prefer each trimester. Tuition is comprehensive, so those opting for more credits can accelerate their progress through the program.

Trimester Enrollments

At YVI, our academic calendar is structured into three trimesters to optimize learning and progress:

  • Winter Trimester: January through March
  • Spring Trimester: April through June
  • Fall Trimester: October through December

Enrollment is open year-round, with live classes kicking off at the start of each trimester. This schedule not only motivates students to complete their courses within each term but also facilitates enrolling in subsequent courses seamlessly. Additionally, the synchronized start dates for new courses enhance the effectiveness of student study groups, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Personal Coaching

YVI takes pride in offering personal coaching, a distinctive feature of our distance learning program. Enrolled students benefit from ongoing access to a dedicated student advisor. These advisors assist students in navigating any obstacles to progress, offer guidance on tailoring their Major Map for success, and provide steadfast support and accountability throughout their academic journey.

Peer Groups

YVI is attuned to the unique challenges of distance education, such as the potential for feeling isolated. We actively counteract this by fostering vibrant learning communities and facilitating peer-led support groups. The creation of peer affinity groups nurtures relationships and fosters a culture of mutual accountability. With YVI, you can access a connected and supportive Ayurvedic educational experience from anywhere with an internet connection.

Our students are building electronic communities across platforms and geographies!

With a distinguished faculty of experts, our curriculum covers the full spectrum of Ayurvedic science, blending theory with hands-on training through internships and case studies. We emphasize the synergy between Yoga and Ayurveda, providing a holistic approach to well-being. Students join a supportive community, gaining recognized certifications that open doors to various career opportunities in Ayurveda. It's more than learning—it's a journey of personal and professional transformation.

Is it legal to practice Ayurveda?

Ayurveda can be legally practiced across all 50 U.S. states, and graduates of Yoga Veda Institute are well-positioned for board certification, enabling them to consult with clients. However, the legal status of Ayurveda varies internationally. Practitioners outside the U.S. should research local regulations and consult with authorities or Ayurvedic organizations to ensure compliance. Staying informed about evolving legal frameworks allows practitioners to confidently and lawfully offer Ayurvedic services while contributing to the growth of this ancient practice in their communities.

Is Yoga Veda Institute Accredited?

As an alum of Yoga Veda Institute's AAC-recognized program, you'll be eligible to take the NAMACB Board Exams, qualifying you as a board-certified Ayurvedic Practitioner. We are proud that all graduates who opted for the NAMACB exam have successfully passed. The AAC's recognition ensures our curriculum meets rigorous standards, preparing graduates for professional success in Ayurveda. Yoga Veda Institute is a recognized AAC member, providing confidence in the quality and credibility of our programs.

What is the Importance of Accreditation?

Accreditation is a critical indicator of educational quality. While some institutions may claim dubious credentials, the Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission (AAC) is recognized for its stringent standards. AAC accreditation involves a thorough review process, ensuring programs meet high educational standards and continuously improve. This level of oversight is essential for students and employers, enhancing professional credibility and career opportunities. Be cautious of institutions with unverified accreditations, as they may lack meaningful oversight. AAC accreditation offers assurance of quality and a pathway to success in Ayurveda.

What are my future career opportunities?

The growing demand for holistic health has opened various career paths in Ayurveda. As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, you’ll offer consultations, craft remedies, and guide clients to health. Wellness Consultants share Ayurvedic knowledge through workshops or content creation, while Spa and Wellness Centers integrate therapies like Abhyanga. In Product Development, you can innovate Ayurvedic goods. Opportunities in Research and Education allow you to shape the future of Ayurveda, whether through teaching or research. Ayurveda offers diverse, fulfilling careers focused on enhancing well-being.

Is the Ayurvedic Practitioner Certification Globally recognized?

Certifications in Ayurveda, like in most professions, are not recognized “globally” due to varying regulations in each country. Every country sets its own standards and requirements for all professional practice, and Ayurveda is no exception.

In regions where Ayurveda is legal but lacks specific regulations, our AAC-recognized certification is often accepted as a reference, similar to advanced standards in the USA. However, we recommend confirming requirements with your local authority to ensure compliance.
