Is a one of a kind course that is specifically for the Ayurvedic student who wants to learn the necessary skills to be able to effectively assess a patient/client in a clinical setting OR professional who wants to deepen their current assessment skills.
Clinical Assessment is an intensive course that builds the necessary skills to assess and diagnose clients so that you can bring them back to good health. This course introduces students to the fundamental approaches to assessing an individual as a whole. Students will have a firm grasp of samprapti, disease classification, clinical observation, three-fold diagnostic method, eight-fold diagnostic method, assessing and diagnosing agni, ama, the malas, dhatus, and a patient’s mental constitution.

YOUR TEACHER
Marek Sawicki is a highly trained international educator and experienced clinician in the fields of Ayurvedic Medicine, Yoga Therapy and Medical/ Orthopedic Massage. He has over two decades of experience in his successful private healthcare practice Living Alchemy Ayurveda, in Asheville, NC and over 9000 contact hours of teaching college / private school level programs in the Southeast region and internationally.
His comprehensive education includes being a graduate of The Ayurvedic Institute of Albuquerque, N.M. under the guidance of Dr. Vasant Lad. This training is reinforced with two years of clinical internship under Dr. Alakananda Devi of Alandi Ayurvedic Gurukula specializing in Internal Herbal Medicine, Clinical Pancha Karma, Digestive Disorders, Parasitology, Stress Management, Women / Men’s Health, Chronic Illness, Autoimmune Conditions and Chronic Pain Management.
Marek draws from a firm therapeutic training and teaching of Ayuryoga, Viniyoga, and Iyengar approaches as an IAYT certified yoga therapist creating individualized healing and practice routines. His personal teachers include T.K.V. and Kasthub Desikachar, Gary Kraftsow, Lillah Schwartz, and K. Pathabhi Jois.
Marek has spent over seven years travelling in the Far East studying with master teachers in the fields of Yoga, Ayurveda, and Therapeutic Massage and is deeply knowledgeable of Buddhist, and Hindu traditions of spirituality and the healing arts. He has over 28 years of experience in mindfulness / tantric meditation practice and offers guidance in personal and private practice.
SCHEDULE
Clinical Assessment is prerecorded and self-paced and thereofre you may complete this 100-hour certification course at your own pace.
TIME COMMITMENT
Included in this 100-hour certification course are 20 hours of prerecorded video. Students should expect roughly 8 additional hours each week to reading, working with case studies (intake, designing recommendations, and following up with clients), homework, and self-study, and preparing for the final exam.
PREREQUISITES
If a student is not enrolled in one of Yoga Veda Institute’s diploma or certificate programs, there are no prerequistes to take this course however students must have a foundational understanding of tridosha and their gunas, agni, ama, and the 7 dhatus in order to fully understand the content in this class.
Students are suggested to take Ayurvedic Anatomy to prepare.

Yoga Veda Institute offers students educational programs in the areas of Ayurveda and Yoga that prepare students for vocations such as minister of yoga (Siromani of Yoga), Ayurvedic counselors or professionals (Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Ayurvedic Practitioner), Vedic educators (Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist) or otherwise as Ayurvedic social workers in a related field.
Yoga Veda Institute is a supporting member school of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Yoga Veda Institute is a supporting member school of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and our Ayurvedic Practitioner program has been reviewed and is recognized as providing training at the professional membership level of Ayurvedic Practitioner.

Above and beyond all subject matter in this program, this is a lifestyle dedicated to mindful, conscious and compassionate living. We expect these primary principles to be applied to all aspects of students learning experience inside and outside of the classroom.
Due to the nature of the subject of this course and to the high regard we put on living with integrity, honesty, truthfulness and compassion Yoga Veda Institute expects students to understand and maintain high standards of academic integrity. Breaches of academic integrity are subject to review by the Admin Board and may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including requirement to withdraw from the School and suspension of registration privileges or revocation of certification.
Students are expected to conduct themselves responsibly, honestly, and with due consideration for others while enrolled at Yoga Veda Institute as well as in all of their interactions and communications with members of the Yoga Veda community.
Students are expected to take personal responsibility for their own assignment submissions and tracking, knowing class dates and times of class, understanding their personal track program, requesting curriculum updates as needed. Yoga Veda Institute expects students to be active and engaged participants. Students registered in a course must attend all classes and participate online, take all exams, and complete all coursework on time.
Students who are registered for a course and miss the first class meeting risk losing their place in the course. The Institute reserves the right to prohibit or cancel late registration by students who do not attend first class meetings.
Students are expected to treat web-conference class meetings as if attending class on campus, which includes behaving professionally, treating others with courtesy and respect, refraining from using profanity or socially offensive language, wearing appropriate clothing, and avoiding inappropriate surroundings.
Students are required to have and use a camera and microphone when attending web-conference class meetings unless otherwise specified by the instructor.
Students may not join a class while driving or riding in a car. Students are expected to join from a suitable, quiet location, with a device that permits full participation in the class activities. Many courses include activities that cannot adequately be performed on a mobile device.
